Banana Mama Cocktail Recipe

  • Author: Sam

Description

The Banana Mama cocktail is a frozen tropical escape in a glass—creamy, fruity, and kissed with island flavors. Made with ripe banana, coconut rum, and a swirl of grenadine, this vibrant drink is quick to blend and perfect for hot days, beach parties, or when you’re just craving sunshine in sip form. Try it once and it’ll become a warm-weather favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 oz light rum

  • 1 oz coconut rum

  • 2 oz pineapple juice

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 1 cup ice

  • ½ oz grenadine

  • Optional garnish: whipped cream or banana slice

Instructions

  • Blend the base: In a high-speed blender, combine the light rum, coconut rum, pineapple juice, ripe banana, and ice. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  • Create the sunset effect: Slowly pour the grenadine into the bottom of your serving glass. It will settle at the base for a stunning red layer.

  • Assemble the cocktail: Gently pour the blended banana mixture over the grenadine. Watch the vibrant swirl rise—so pretty!

  • Garnish and serve: Add a swirl of whipped cream or a banana slice on the rim for extra flair. Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy your tropical moment!

Notes

  • Use a very ripe banana for the best creamy texture and natural sweetness.

  • Frozen bananas work great and make the drink even frostier—no need for extra ice.

  • For a non-alcoholic version, replace the rums with coconut milk or flavored sparkling water.

  • Want it richer? Float ½ oz dark rum on top before serving.

  • To make it thicker, add more ice or a splash of coconut cream.

  • The cocktail is best enjoyed immediately, but you can prep a batch and freeze the blended mix, then re-blend to serve.
