Description
Boozy Egg Jello Shots are a fun, colorful, and festive party treat! These playful shots are made using plastic Easter eggs as molds, giving them a unique and eye-catching shape. Easily customizable with your favorite Jell-O flavors and spirits, they’re perfect for celebrations like Easter, spring parties, or any occasion that calls for a little whimsy. Make them ahead of time, keep them chilled, and watch them disappear at your next gathering!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (6 oz) box of flavored Jell-O (your choice of flavor)
- 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin (for a firmer texture)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup vodka (or your preferred spirit)
- Vegetable oil (for greasing the molds)
- Plastic Easter eggs (to use as molds)
Instructions
- Prepare the Molds – Carefully drill or cut a small hole in the top of each plastic Easter egg, just big enough to pour liquid through. Lightly grease the inside of each egg with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Secure the egg seams with tape to avoid leakage. Place them in an egg carton to keep them upright.
- Make the Jello Mixture – In a mixing bowl, combine the flavored Jell-O and unflavored gelatin. Pour in the boiling water and stir until completely dissolved. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then stir in the vodka (or chosen spirit).
- Fill the Molds – Using a funnel or squeeze bottle, carefully pour the jello mixture into each prepared egg through the hole at the top. Fill to the top and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until fully set.
- Unmold and Serve – Once set, gently open the plastic eggs and remove the jello shots. Serve immediately, or keep refrigerated until ready to enjoy!
Notes
- Alcohol Options: Vodka is a classic choice, but rum, tequila, or flavored liqueurs work great too. Choose a spirit that complements your Jell-O flavor.
- Non-Alcoholic Version: Replace the vodka with cold water or fruit juice for a fun, kid-friendly treat.
- Make-Ahead Tip: These jello shots can be prepared up to 3 days in advance and stored in the fridge until serving.
- Extra Flair: Add edible glitter, sprinkles, or a small candy inside before the jello sets for a festive twist!
