Drunken Melon Balls Recipe

Drunken Melon Balls Recipe: A Boozy Fruit Salad That Screams Summer

  • Author: Sam

Description

This Drunken Melon Balls Recipe is a fun, fruity twist on a classic fruit salad—made with watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew melon soaked in pineapple juice, raspberry vodka, and triple sec. It’s light, colorful, and ideal for summer parties, BBQs, or poolside gatherings. No cooking required—just chill, soak, and serve! You’ll want to keep this one on repeat for every warm-weather occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small seedless watermelon

  • 1 cantaloupe

  • 1 honeydew melon

  • ¾ cup pineapple juice

  • ½ cup raspberry vodka (or any fruit-flavored vodka)

  • ¼ cup triple sec (or Cointreau, Grand Marnier, etc.)

  • Optional: fresh mint, for garnish

  • Optional: lime wedges, for garnish

Instructions

  • Scoop the melon balls
Use a melon baller to scoop out balls from the watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew. Place them all into a large mixing or serving bowl.

  • Make the boozy soak
In a small pitcher or container, mix together pineapple juice, raspberry vodka, and triple sec. Stir to combine.

  • Soak the fruit
Pour the mixture over the melon balls. Gently stir to coat all the fruit evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours—up to 6 hours for stronger flavor.

  • Serve and garnish
Before serving, stir the melon again. Spoon into bowls or cocktail glasses, or serve on toothpicks. Garnish with mint leaves or a wedge of lime for extra brightness.

Notes

  • Use ripe, sweet melons for best flavor and soak absorption.

  • Chill the juice and alcohol before mixing to keep everything cold.

  • Don’t soak longer than 6 hours—melons will soften too much.

  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute lemon-lime soda or fruit-flavored sparkling water.

  • Get creative! Add grapes, strawberries, or a few sprigs of basil or mint during soaking for extra flair.

  • Leftovers? Store in an airtight container for up to 24 hours in the fridge. They’re best fresh!
