Drunken Papa Smurf Jello Shots (A Vibrant Party Treat That’s Anything But Boring)

  • Author: Sam

Description

These Drunken Papa Smurf Jello Shots are vibrant, fruity, and layered with bold cocktail flavors like tequila, peach schnapps, and blue curaçao. With playful red and blue gelatin layers, topped with whipped cream and candy, they’re a party-ready treat that’s anything but boring. Make them ahead, serve them cold, and get ready for compliments all night long!

Ingredients

Scale

Red Layer (Bottom):

  • 1 box (3 oz) cherry or strawberry gelatin

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • ¼ cup tequila

  • ¼ cup blue curaçao

  • ½ cup cold water

Blue Layer (Top):

  • 1 box (3 oz) blue raspberry gelatin

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • ¼ cup peach schnapps

  • ¼ cup sloe gin (or coconut rum for a sweeter variation)

  • ½ cup cold water

Optional Toppings:

  • Whipped cream

  • Gummy bears or gummy Smurfs

  • Decorative party picks or skewers

Instructions

  • Make the Red Layer:
In a mixing bowl, dissolve the cherry or strawberry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved. Add tequila, blue curaçao, and cold water. Mix well.
Pour the mixture into mini plastic condiment cups, filling each about halfway. Place the cups on a tray and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours, or until the gelatin is set.

  • Make the Blue Layer:
Once the red layer is firm, dissolve the blue raspberry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved. Add peach schnapps, sloe gin (or coconut rum), and cold water. Mix thoroughly.
Gently pour the blue mixture on top of the red layer in each cup. Return to the fridge and chill for another 2 to 4 hours until fully set.

  • Top and Serve:
Just before serving, add a swirl of whipped cream on top. Garnish with gummy bears or themed candies, and insert decorative picks if desired. Serve cold and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use a measuring cup with a pour spout for easy, mess-free filling.

  • Let each layer fully set before adding the next to avoid color blending.

  • Make them up to 5 days in advance—just wait to add whipped cream until right before serving.

  • To make non-alcoholic: swap the liquor for fruit juice or sports drinks with similar colors.

  • If blue curaçao isn’t available, use triple sec with a drop of blue food coloring.

  • These are great for themed parties, especially 4th of July, Smurf birthdays, or retro nights.
