Hoochie-Rita: A Sassy, Fruity Margarita That Screams Summer Vibes!

  • Author: Sam

Description

This bold and fruity Hoochie-Rita is a frozen margarita with layered mango and berry slush — perfect for summer parties, backyard hangs, or any moment that needs a splash of fun! It’s quick to make, incredibly vibrant, and brings the good vibes every single time.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Mango Layer:

  • 2 oz tequila

  • 1 oz triple sec

  • ½ cup frozen mango chunks

  • Juice of ½ lime

  • ½ cup ice

For the Berry Layer:

  • ½ cup frozen strawberries or raspberries

  • 1 oz tequila

  • Splash of simple syrup or agave (optional, depending on sweetness of berries)

  • ½ cup ice

Garnishes:

  • Lime slices

  • Maraschino cherries

  • Sugar or salt for rimming glasses

Instructions

  • Rim Your Glasses: Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each glass. Dip into sugar or salt (your call!) and set aside in the freezer to chill while you prep.

  • Make the Mango Layer: In a blender, combine 2 oz tequila, 1 oz triple sec, ½ cup frozen mango, juice of ½ lime, and ½ cup ice. Blend until smooth and slushy. Divide between two glasses, filling them halfway.

  • Make the Berry Layer: Rinse the blender and add ½ cup frozen berries, 1 oz tequila, a splash of syrup or agave if using, and ½ cup ice. Blend until thick and smooth.

  • Layer & Serve: Gently spoon or pour the berry layer on top of the mango layer for that gorgeous two-tone look. Garnish with a lime slice and cherry, pop in a straw, and serve immediately!

Notes

  • Want to keep it sweet but skip the syrup? Let your fruit do the talking — especially if it’s ripe and juicy!

  • Use a spoon to layer the berry slush gently to avoid blending the colors.

  • Love a spicy twist? Add a slice of jalapeño to the mango blend for a sweet-heat surprise.

  • No triple sec? Swap with orange juice or another citrusy liqueur.

  • Serving a crowd? Double or triple the recipe and blend in batches!
