  • Author: Sam

Description

Jamaican Me Thirsty is a vibrant frozen layered cocktail that looks as stunning as it tastes! With its tropical red-yellow-green layers, fruity liqueurs, and creamy piña colada base, this colorful rum slush is the ultimate summer party drink. It’s easy to make, refreshingly sweet, and guaranteed to wow your guests. Serve it poolside or at your next backyard hangout—you’ll be making this one all season long!

Ingredients

Scale

Serves: 2

  • 2 oz light rum

  • 3 oz chilled piña colada mix (divided)

  • 1 oz strawberry liqueur (for the red layer)

  • 1 oz crème de banana (for the yellow layer)

  • 1 oz melon liqueur (for the green layer)

  • 3 cups ice (divided evenly, 1 cup per layer)

  • 2 fresh strawberries, for garnish

Instructions

  • Make the Green Layer (Bottom):
In a blender, combine 1 cup ice, 1 oz melon liqueur, and 1 oz piña colada mix. Blend until slushy and pour carefully into the bottom of a hurricane glass.

  • Make the Yellow Layer (Middle):
Rinse the blender. Add 1 cup ice, 1 oz crème de banana, and 1 oz piña colada mix. Blend, then slowly pour over the green layer using the back of a spoon to keep layers separated.

  • Make the Red Layer (Top):
Rinse the blender again. Blend 1 cup ice, 1 oz strawberry liqueur, and 1 oz piña colada mix. Gently spoon this layer on top of the yellow layer.

  • Garnish and Serve:
Top each glass with a fresh strawberry. Add a straw or cocktail skewer and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, use crushed ice to help each layer blend into a thick, pourable slush.

  • Chill your glasses ahead of time to help keep the layers distinct longer.

  • Pour each layer slowly over the back of a spoon for clean separation—this trick is a lifesaver!

  • Want to make it a mocktail? Replace the liqueurs with fruit juices like grenadine, banana nectar, and melon soda.

  • Store any extra slush in the freezer and re-blend with a splash of piña colada mix before serving.

  • This recipe is super easy to scale—perfect for parties or weekend vibes with friends!
