Key Lime Colada Punch

Key Lime Colada Punch: A Tropical Party Cocktail Dream

  • Author: Sam

Description

Key Lime Colada Punch is a creamy, citrusy tropical party drink that tastes like a vacation in a glass! Made with light rum, coconut rum, pineapple juice, and key lime cream liqueur, this punch is the ultimate festive cocktail for summer parties, beach-themed gatherings, or just chilling with friends. Top it with whipped cream and candy garnishes for a fun, crowd-pleasing centerpiece.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup light rum

  • 1 cup coconut rum

  • ¾ cup lime cream liqueur (e.g., key lime liqueur)

  • 2 cups pineapple juice

  • 1½ cups piña colada mix (premade or homemade)

  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice

  • 1 cup cream of coconut (such as Coco Lopez)

  • 4 cups ice (plus more for serving if needed)

Optional Garnishes:

  • Whipped cream (for topping the punch bowl and each serving)

  • Lime slices (inside the bowl or on each glass)

  • Mini cocktail umbrellas

  • Sour candy skewers or colorful gummy candies

Instructions

  • Chill your ingredients: Make sure all juices and liqueurs are well chilled before starting. This keeps the punch extra refreshing.

  • Mix the base: In a large punch bowl, combine light rum, coconut rum, lime cream liqueur, pineapple juice, piña colada mix, lime juice, and cream of coconut. Stir thoroughly until smooth and creamy.

  • Blend for slushiness (optional): For a frozen punch, blend half the mixture with ice and pour it back into the bowl. Repeat with the remaining mixture if desired.

  • Add ice: Stir in additional ice to keep the punch chilled while serving.

  • Decorate and top: Add a generous layer of whipped cream on top of the punch. Float lime slices in the bowl or place them around the rim.

  • Serve and garnish: Ladle into glasses and top each serving with whipped cream, a candy skewer, and a mini umbrella for a festive finish.

Notes

  • Want to make it non-alcoholic? Skip the rums and liqueur and use coconut water, limeade, and pineapple juice instead.

  • No lime cream liqueur? Mix a tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk with lime juice as a creative substitute.

  • Make ahead tip: Mix everything except the ice and garnishes up to a day in advance. Store chilled and add finishing touches just before serving.

  • Leftovers? Freeze in popsicle molds for tropical boozy pops!
