Description
Lemon Honey Ginger Water is a soothing and refreshing drink made with simple, nourishing ingredients. Perfect warm or over ice, this quick wellness tonic supports immunity, aids digestion, and adds a vibrant, zesty lift to your day. A comforting ritual to sip, savor, and repeat.
Ingredients
Makes 2 servings
2 cups filtered water
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, finely grated
1–2 tablespoons raw honey (adjust to taste)
Juice of 1 lemon
Lemon slices, for garnish
Ice cubes (optional)
Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper or turmeric for extra anti-inflammatory benefits
Instructions
In a small saucepan, bring the filtered water to a gentle simmer.
Add the finely grated ginger and let it simmer for 5–7 minutes to release its flavor.
Remove from heat and let the ginger water cool slightly—just enough so it won’t harm the enzymes in the honey.
Strain the ginger tea into a glass or jug.
Stir in the raw honey until fully dissolved, then add the fresh lemon juice.
Serve warm or pour over ice.
Garnish with lemon slices and, if desired, a pinch of cayenne or turmeric for a spicy kick.
Notes
Use fresh ginger for the best flavor and benefits—powdered can work in a pinch, but it’s not quite the same.
Don’t add honey while the water is boiling, or you’ll lose its natural enzymes and antibacterial properties.
For a make-ahead version, store in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 2 days. Give it a good shake before serving!
Want more flavor? Try adding a sprig of mint or a slice of fresh turmeric.
This drink is wonderfully versatile—serve it warm to soothe or iced to refresh!
