Ingredients

Scale

For the Lavender Simple Syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender buds
  • 1 tablespoon dried butterfly pea flowers (for natural coloring)

For the Cocktail:

  • 2 ounces lemon vodka
  • 1 ounce elderflower liqueur (such as St. Germain)
  • 1 ounce limoncello
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 ounce lavender simple syrup (prepared earlier)
  • Ice

For Garnish:

  • Lemon slices
  • Fresh lavender sprigs

Instructions

  • Make the Lavender Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine water and sugar over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a gentle boil.
  • Add the dried lavender buds and butterfly pea flowers. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, cover, and allow the syrup to steep for 15–20 minutes for maximum flavor.
  • Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean jar or bottle. Let it cool completely before use.
  • Mix the Cocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add lemon vodka, elderflower liqueur, limoncello, fresh lemon juice, and lavender simple syrup.
  • Shake well for 15–20 seconds until the mixture is well-chilled.
  • Serve & Garnish: Strain the cocktail into a chilled martini or coupe glass. Garnish with a lemon slice and a sprig of fresh lavender. Enjoy the gorgeous color change as the drink transforms into a beautiful purple hue!

Notes

  • Always use culinary-grade lavender to ensure the best flavor without bitterness.
  • If you prefer a less sweet cocktail, reduce the lavender syrup slightly and add an extra splash of lemon juice.
  • Chilling your glass in the freezer for 10 minutes before serving enhances the refreshing quality of the drink.
  • The lavender simple syrup can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or frozen for longer storage.
  • If you don’t have lemon vodka, substitute with regular vodka and add a little extra lemon juice for a similar effect.
  • This cocktail can be made in advance—simply mix everything except the ice and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Shake with ice before serving.
