Description
Loaded bacon cheese fries are the ultimate comfort food—crispy golden fries layered with melted cheddar and mozzarella, topped with crunchy bacon and fresh green onions. Perfect for game day, parties, or a cozy night in. Easy to customize, hard to resist!
Ingredients
1½ lbs frozen French fries (or hand-cut potatoes if preferred)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
2 tbsp chopped green onions
Optional: ranch dressing or sour cream for dipping
Instructions
Bake or fry the fries: Cook your fries according to package instructions. For crispier results, bake them at 450°F or deep fry until golden.
Cook the bacon: While the fries are baking, fry bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels and crumble once cool.
Assemble the fries: Pile the cooked fries into an oven-safe dish or skillet. Top evenly with shredded cheddar and mozzarella.
Melt the cheese: Broil for 2–3 minutes, just until the cheese is bubbly and fully melted.
Top and serve: Sprinkle with bacon crumbles and chopped green onions. Serve hot with ranch or sour cream on the side.
Notes
For extra crispiness, use thicker fries like steak fries or double-fry for a crunchier texture.
Shred cheese from a block for better melting—pre-shredded cheese contains anti-caking agents.
Easily customize with your favorite toppings: diced jalapeños, chopped tomatoes, BBQ drizzle, or even a fried egg on top.
Best enjoyed fresh! Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer to bring back the crisp.
