Description

Malibu Sweet Tart is a vibrant, layered frozen cocktail that combines tropical coconut-pineapple flavor with a tangy berry twist. This slushy drink is fruity, tart, sweet, and totally beach-party ready. It’s the kind of cocktail that looks stunning in a tall glass and tastes like sunshine in every sip. Whether you’re hosting a backyard get-together or just treating yourself, this fun drink is the perfect way to bring vacation vibes home.

Ingredients

Scale

Bottom Layer:

  • 2 oz Malibu coconut rum

  • 3 oz pineapple juice

  • 1 cup crushed or blended ice

Top Layer:

  • 2 oz tart berry vodka (Three Olives Tart Vodka or similar)

  • 1 oz Raspberry Pucker

  • Splash of Bacardi 151 (optional for extra strength)

  • 1 cup crushed or blended ice

Garnishes:

  • Watermelon wedge

  • Fresh raspberry or maraschino cherry

  • Lime twist or spiral

Instructions

  1. Make the Bottom Layer: In a blender, combine Malibu rum, pineapple juice, and 1 cup of ice. Blend until slushy but still pourable. Divide evenly into two tall glasses. Place the glasses in the freezer to set while you prepare the next layer.

  2. Prepare the Top Layer: Rinse the blender, then add tart berry vodka, Raspberry Pucker, Bacardi 151 (if using), and 1 cup of ice. Blend until smooth and slushy.

  3. Layer the Drink: Remove the glasses from the freezer. Slowly pour the red slushy mixture over the yellow base. For distinct layers, pour over the back of a spoon or carefully down the inside of the glass.

  4. Garnish and Serve: Add a watermelon wedge to the rim, drop in a raspberry or cherry, and finish with a twist of lime. Serve immediately and enjoy the tropical candy vibes!

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, swap Malibu with coconut water and use tart cranberry juice with a splash of lime in place of vodka and Raspberry Pucker.

  • Chill your glasses in advance to keep layers from melting quickly.

  • Crushed ice works best for blending into a smooth slushy texture.

  • You can make each layer ahead of time and freeze separately—just re-blend briefly before layering.

  • Want it sweeter? Add a splash of simple syrup or grenadine to the top layer for extra candy flavor.
