Melon Drip Cocktail

Melon Drip Cocktail – The Ultimate Neon-Layered Frozen Summer Drink

  • Author: Sam

Description

The Melon Drip Cocktail is a show-stopping, neon-layered frozen drink bursting with juicy watermelon, citrus vodka, tropical pineapple, and a bright blue raspberry lemonade finish. This easy-to-make cocktail is perfect for poolside lounging, weekend brunches, or anytime you want a colorful, fruity chill in a glass. Each layer is uniquely flavored and floats beautifully for a cocktail that looks as stunning as it tastes. Summertime never tasted—or looked—so good!

Ingredients

Scale

Red Layer:

  • 1 cup frozen watermelon chunks

  • 3 oz watermelon juice

  • 1½ oz citrus vodka

  • ½ oz lime juice

  • ½ cup ice

Yellow Layer:

  • ¾ cup pineapple juice

  • 1 oz lemon vodka or citrus rum

  • ½ banana (optional, for texture and tropical flavor)

  • ½ cup crushed ice

Blue Layer:

  • ¾ cup blue raspberry lemonade (or blue sports drink)

  • 1½ oz blue curaçao (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)

  • ½ cup ice

Optional Garnishes:

  • Mini watermelon wedges

  • Pineapple leaves

  • Cocktail umbrellas

  • Colorful straws

Instructions

  • Make the Red Layer
In a blender, combine frozen watermelon, watermelon juice, citrus vodka, lime juice, and ice. Blend until smooth. Divide evenly between two tall glasses and place in the freezer for 5–10 minutes to firm up.

  • Make the Yellow Layer
Rinse the blender. Add pineapple juice, lemon vodka or rum, banana (if using), and crushed ice. Blend until thick and slushy. Slowly pour the yellow layer over the back of a spoon into each glass to float it on top of the red layer.

  • Make the Blue Layer
Rinse the blender again. Combine blue raspberry lemonade, blue curaçao, and ice. Blend until smooth. Gently pour the blue layer over the back of a spoon into each glass as the final layer.

  • Garnish and Serve
Top each drink with your favorite garnish—like a mini watermelon wedge or pineapple leaf—and serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

  • Layering Tip: Always use crushed ice and pour each layer slowly over the back of a spoon to keep the colors separate.

  • Make Ahead: You can blend and freeze each layer separately in airtight containers, then re-blend for serving.

  • Non-Alcoholic Version: Replace vodka and curaçao with lemonade, soda water, or coconut water for a refreshing mocktail.

  • Flavor Boost: Add a splash of coconut cream to the yellow layer for a creamy twist, or mint leaves for extra freshness.

  • Glassware Tip: Hurricane glasses work best to show off those gorgeous layers, but any tall glass will do.
