  • Author: Sam

Description

Bring the beach to your glass with this Mermaid Lemon Drop cocktail! A citrusy, colorful mix of vodka, lemon juice, Midori, and Blue Curaçao that’s bursting with tropical flavor and ocean-inspired vibes. It’s quick to make, beautiful to serve, and perfect for parties or whenever you need a splash of summer. Shake one up and taste the magic!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup vodka

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4 to 5 lemons)

  • 1 cup simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water, see Notes)

  • 2 oz Midori (melon liqueur)

  • 2 oz Blue Curaçao

  • Ice

Optional Garnishes:

  • Lemon slices

  • Colored or sanding sugar (for rimming glasses)

  • Cocktail umbrellas or decorative straws

Instructions

  • Rim your glasses (optional): Rub a lemon wedge along the rim of each glass. Dip into colored or sanding sugar for a festive, mermaid sparkle.

  • Add ingredients to shaker: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour in the vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, Midori, and Blue Curaçao.

  • Shake it up: Shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds, or until the shaker feels frosty and chilled.

  • Strain and serve: Fill glasses with fresh ice and strain the cocktail mixture over the top.

  • Garnish and enjoy: Add a lemon slice, a cocktail umbrella, or a fun straw—and serve immediately!

Notes

  • Simple Syrup: To make your own, heat 1 cup sugar with 1 cup water in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves completely. Let cool before using. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 1 month.

  • Use fresh lemon juice for the brightest, most refreshing flavor. Bottled juice won’t give the same zing.

  • To make a non-alcoholic version, substitute lemon sparkling water for vodka, use melon syrup instead of Midori, and replace Blue Curaçao with blue sports drink or a splash of orange juice with food coloring.

  • Want to batch it? Multiply the ingredients and store the mix (without ice) in the fridge. Shake individual servings before pouring.

  • For extra chill, pop your glasses in the freezer 10 minutes before serving.
