This Pizza Burger Pie is the ultimate fusion comfort food—seasoned ground beef, zesty pizza sauce, and layers of gooey mozzarella cheese baked into a golden pizza crust, then topped with crispy pepperoni. It’s everything you love about burgers and pizza, packed into one deep-dish dinner that’s cheesy, hearty, and always a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
For the Crust:
1 tube refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade, if preferred)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Optional: ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Optional: ½ teaspoon dried oregano
For the Filling:
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup pizza sauce
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
10–12 slices pepperoni (add more if you love it!)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch deep pie dish or springform pan.
Roll out pizza dough and press it into the bottom and sides of the prepared dish to form a crust.
Brush dough with olive oil, and sprinkle with garlic powder and oregano for extra flavor if using.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until browned. Drain excess fat.
Layer half of the mozzarella over the crust base.
Add the cooked beef evenly over the cheese.
Spoon and spread the pizza sauce over the beef layer.
Top with remaining mozzarella and sprinkle on parmesan.
Add pepperoni slices on top.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
Let cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing to help it hold together.
Notes
A springform pan makes this even easier to slice and serve cleanly.
You can swap in sausage, ground turkey, or veggie crumbles depending on your preferences.
Want to sneak in some veggies? Bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, or even spinach make tasty additions.
