It’s an easy, family-friendly dinner that feels like a party on a plate. Make them for a weeknight win or your next game day gathering!
Ingredients
For the Patties:
1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred for juiciness)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt & pepper, to taste
Toppings:
¾ cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
16–20 slices of pepperoni
4 burger buns, toasted
Instructions
Mix the Patties: In a large bowl, combine ground beef with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Gently mix and form into 4 patties, slightly wider than your buns.
Cook the Patties: Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side or until browned and cooked to your liking.
Add Pizza Toppings: Lower the heat. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on each patty, top with mozzarella, and layer on the pepperoni slices. Cover the pan (or grill) and let the cheese melt and pepperoni sizzle, about 2–3 minutes.
Toast the Buns: Lightly butter the buns and toast them in a pan or on the grill until golden and crisp.
Assemble & Serve: Place each loaded patty on a bottom bun, add extra toppings if you like, cap with the top bun, and serve hot!
Notes
For a spicier version, use hot pepperoni or add red pepper flakes to your sauce.
Make it your own with sautéed onions, mushrooms, or even jalapeños.
Swap the beef with ground turkey or a plant-based alternative for a lighter or vegetarian version.
Cheese tip: Freshly shredded mozzarella melts best, but pre-shredded works in a pinch!
To store: Keep cooked patties separate from buns and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat gently and assemble fresh for best texture.
