Ingredients
-
2 (3 oz) packages cherry-flavored gelatin
-
1 cup cola (boiled)
-
1 cup cola (chilled)
-
1 cup rum (spiced, dark, or cherry-flavored)
-
20–24 maraschino cherries (optional, for garnish)
-
20–24 mini 2 oz condiment cups with lids
Instructions
-
In a medium saucepan, bring 1 cup of cola to a boil.
-
Remove from heat and whisk in the cherry gelatin until completely dissolved (about 2 minutes).
-
Stir in 1 cup of chilled cola and 1 cup of rum. Mix well.
-
Carefully pour the mixture into mini condiment cups, filling each about ¾ full.
-
Drop one maraschino cherry into each cup (optional, but highly recommended).
-
Place the filled cups on a tray and refrigerate for at least 3–4 hours, or until fully set.
-
Keep chilled until ready to serve. Enjoy responsibly!
Notes
-
Use cold cola and rum to help the mixture set faster and evenly.
-
To make non-alcoholic versions, swap rum for extra cola or cherry juice.
-
Don’t add extra alcohol—too much and the shots won’t set properly.
-
Want to get fancy? Try layering another gelatin flavor after the first layer sets!
-
These can be made up to 2 days ahead—just keep them covered in the fridge.
