Sangria Jello Shots

Sangria Jello Shots Recipe: Sweet, Boozy Bites of Summer Fun!

  • Author: Sam

Description

Sangria Jello Shots are fruity, boozy, and irresistibly fun—everything you love about sangria, just in playful, party-ready form! Made with red wine, real fruit juice, and fresh chopped fruit, these little cups are perfect for BBQs, brunches, and backyard get-togethers. Easy to make ahead and impossible to resist, they’re a grown-up treat that steals the show every time!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packets unflavored gelatin (about 4½ teaspoons total)

  • 2 cups red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, or Rioja recommended)

  • ½ cup cherry juice

  • ½ cup orange juice

  • ½ cup cold water

  • 1 cup mixed fruit, diced (such as green apples, oranges, raspberries, strawberries)

  • 1824 mini plastic shot cups with lids (1 to 2 oz each)

Instructions

  • Bloom the Gelatin: In a medium saucepan, pour in ½ cup of cold water. Sprinkle the gelatin evenly over the surface and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.

  • Heat to Dissolve: Warm the bloomed gelatin over low heat, stirring constantly until fully dissolved—about 2–3 minutes. Don’t let it boil!

  • Mix in Liquids: Remove from heat and stir in the cherry juice, orange juice, and red wine. Whisk gently until smooth and well combined.

  • Add Fruit and Fill Cups: Drop a few pieces of diced fruit into the bottom of each plastic cup. Carefully pour the sangria mixture over the fruit, filling nearly to the top.

  • Chill to Set: Arrange the filled cups on a tray or baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

  • Serve and Enjoy: Keep the shots chilled until serving time. Pop the lids on for easy transport to parties, BBQs, or outdoor events!

Notes

  • Want to make them a little boozier? Swap out some juice for fruit liqueur like brandy or Grand Marnier.

  • Use firm fruits like apples, oranges, and berries to prevent mushiness.

  • These keep well in the fridge for up to 5 days—but they’re usually gone long before then!

  • To make a non-alcoholic version, replace the wine with more fruit juice. Great for mocktail lovers and inclusive entertaining!
