  • Author: Sam

Description

Slime Cocktail Balls are vibrant, boozy gelatin spheres filled with fruit juice, candy-soaked gummies, and matching liquors. These edible cocktails are perfect for parties and celebrations—fun to make, eye-catching on a tray, and full of fruity, grown-up flavor. Customize them with your favorite juices and gummies, then serve chilled for the ultimate party-ready treat.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Gelatin Base (per flavor):

  • ⅔ cup fruit juice (cherry, blue raspberry, or green apple)

  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin (about 7g)

  • ½ cup matching liquor (vodka, blue curaçao mix, or Midori)

Flavor Combos (example):

  • Cherry juice + Smirnoff Red vodka

  • Blue raspberry juice + vodka & blue curaçao

  • Green apple juice + Midori or melon liqueur

For the Boozy Candy Centers:

  • Gummy bears (soaked in vodka or Midori)

  • Sour gummy Smurfs (soaked in vodka)

  • Cola bottle gummies (soaked in whisky)

Extras (optional):

  • Edible glitter

  • Sanding sugar

  • Sphere silicone molds (ice ball molds work great)

  • Dropper or syringe for neat pouring

Instructions

  1. Soak the Candy (optional but recommended):
Place each type of gummy candy in a separate small bowl. Cover with matching booze (vodka for bears, whisky for cola gummies, Midori for Smurfs). Let soak for 2 hours or overnight.

  2. Make the Gelatin Base (per flavor):
In a small saucepan, pour ⅔ cup of one type of juice. Sprinkle in 1 envelope of gelatin and let bloom for 5 minutes.
Heat gently, stirring until gelatin dissolves (do not boil).
Remove from heat and stir in ½ cup of corresponding alcohol.

  3. Fill the Molds:
Add a few soaked gummy pieces to each mold cavity.
Carefully fill with the gelatin mixture using a dropper or syringe.
If using a two-part mold, close securely.

  4. Chill:
Refrigerate molds for at least 4 hours or until completely set. Larger molds may need more time.

  5. Unmold and Finish:
Gently release each gelatin sphere from the mold.
Optional: roll in sanding sugar or dust with edible glitter.
Serve chilled, either alone or floating in a cocktail.

Notes

  • You can mix and match juice and liquor pairings to create your own custom flavor combinations.

  • For a non-alcoholic version, skip the booze and soak candy in soda or syrup.

  • Use cold alcohol to help the gelatin set quickly and evenly.

  • These are best served cold and can be made up to 2 days in advance.

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge—don’t freeze!

  • Add glitter or sugar just before serving for best sparkle and texture.
