Strawberry 1942 – Frozen Strawberry-Lime Tequila Cocktail

  • Author: Sam

Description

This Strawberry 1942 frozen tequila cocktail is fruity, smooth, and irresistibly slushy—like summer in a glass. Made with Don Julio 1942 tequila, strawberry limeade, and real strawberry purée, this chilled pink drink is perfect for sipping poolside or sharing at your next get-together. Fast, fun, and totally customizable!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz Don Julio 1942 tequila (or any smooth tequila)

  • 1 cup Tropicana strawberry limeade (or any strawberry-lime juice blend)

  • ¼ cup strawberry purée (fresh or store-bought)

  • 23 cups crushed ice

  • Optional garnish: fresh lime wheel, strawberry slice, pink straw

For homemade strawberry purée:

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp lime juice

Instructions

  • Make the strawberry purée (if using homemade):
Blend fresh strawberries with sugar and lime juice until smooth. For a silky finish, strain the purée through a fine mesh sieve. Set aside.

  • Add ingredients to blender:
In a high-powered blender, combine the tequila, strawberry limeade, strawberry purée, and crushed ice.

  • Blend until slushy:
Pulse until you reach a thick, slushie-like consistency—icy, smooth, and spoonable.

  • Pour and garnish:
Pour into chilled glasses or party cups. Garnish with a fresh lime wheel, strawberry slice, and a fun straw if you’d like.

  • Serve immediately:
Best enjoyed fresh while icy and vibrant!

Notes

  • Tequila swap: Don Julio 1942 is a premium option, but any good-quality blanco or reposado tequila works well.

  • Make it sweeter: Add simple syrup or agave nectar to taste if you prefer a sweeter blend.

  • Go bubbly: Top with sparkling rosé or soda water for a fizzy twist.

  • Frozen strawberry shortcut: Frozen strawberries can be used for the purée—just thaw before blending.

  • Party prep tip: Make a big batch, freeze it, and re-blend with a splash of juice when ready to serve.

  • Mocktail version: Skip the tequila and use strawberry sparkling water or non-alcoholic spirits for a booze-free treat.
