Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin (such as Jello)

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • 1 cup cold water

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

  • ½ cup whipped cream (optional, for topping or folding in)

  • 1 cup mini marshmallows (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, pour the boiling water over the strawberry gelatin. Stir well for about 2 minutes, or until the gelatin is fully dissolved.

  • Add the cold water and stir to combine.

  • Gently fold in the sliced fresh strawberries.

  • If using, add mini marshmallows and gently mix them in.

  • Pour the mixture into a large serving bowl or individual cups.

  • Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours, or until fully set.

  • Before serving, top with whipped cream and extra strawberries or marshmallows if desired.

Notes

  • Fresh strawberries give the best texture and flavor, but thawed frozen berries can be used if well-drained.

  • For a creamy twist, fold whipped cream into the gelatin before chilling to create a mousse-like texture.

  • Avoid using fresh pineapple or kiwi—these fruits contain enzymes that can prevent the gelatin from setting properly.

  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 3–4 days. This salad is best enjoyed within the first two days.
