Ingredients
-
1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
-
2 teaspoons honey (more to taste)
-
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1–2 limes)
-
4 ounces vodka
-
1/2 to 2/3 cup soda water (about 1/4 to 1/3 cup per glass)
-
Ice
Optional Garnishes:
-
Fresh mint sprigs
-
Lime slices
-
Strawberry slices
Instructions
-
In a cocktail shaker or measuring cup, combine the chopped strawberries, honey, and lime juice.
-
Muddle the ingredients using a muddler or the back of a spoon until the strawberries release their juices.
-
Fill two lowball glasses with ice. Strain the mixture into the glasses for a smoother drink, or pour directly in if you like fruit bits.
-
Add 2 ounces of vodka to each glass and stir gently to combine.
-
Top each glass with soda water (about 1/4 to 1/3 cup). Stir again.
-
Garnish with a lime slice, a few strawberry slices, and a sprig of mint. Serve immediately and enjoy chilled!
Notes
-
Use the ripest strawberries you can find for the best flavor—local and in-season is always best.
-
No honey? Swap in agave syrup, simple syrup, or even maple syrup if you’re feeling cozy.
-
Want it non-alcoholic? Omit the vodka and add more soda water or a fruity sparkling water for a refreshing mocktail.
-
This recipe is easy to batch—just multiply the ingredients and serve from a pitcher for parties.
-
If you’re prepping ahead, muddle the strawberry, lime, and honey base and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before serving.
