Sweet Tart Candy Moonshine

Sweet Tart Candy Moonshine Recipe: A Bold, Boozy Throwback to Your Favorite Childhood Treat

  • Author: Sam

Description

Sweet Tart Candy Moonshine is a colorful, candy-infused spirit that brings nostalgic flavor and bold tartness together in one smooth, party-ready shot. With just four simple ingredients and a little patience, you’ll have a vibrant DIY moonshine that’s perfect for gifts, celebrations, or sipping chilled straight from the freezer!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Sweet Tart candies (any flavor or mix you love)

  • 3 cups Everclear (190-proof) or substitute with plain vodka for a milder version

  • 1 cup water

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  • Infuse the Candy:
In a large mason jar or glass container, combine the Sweet Tart candies and Everclear (or vodka). Seal tightly and give it a gentle shake.

  • Let It Sit:
Allow the mixture to infuse at room temperature for 24 to 48 hours. Shake occasionally until the candies are fully dissolved.

  • Make the Simple Syrup:
In a small saucepan, combine water and sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let cool.

  • Combine and Stir:
Add the cooled syrup to the candy-infused alcohol and stir gently to mix.

  • Strain and Bottle:
Optional: Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove any candy residue. Funnel into bottles or jars for storage.

  • Chill and Enjoy:
Store in the fridge or freezer and serve cold in small glasses or as a shot!

Notes

  • Use any Sweet Tart combo—go bold with blues or stick to classic reds for a theme!

  • Vodka is a great swap if Everclear feels too strong—perfect for more casual sipping.

  • Want to cut sweetness? Reduce sugar to ½ cup in the simple syrup.

  • This moonshine is amazing for gifting—just pour into cute bottles and tie on a fun label.

  • Store tightly sealed in the fridge up to 6 months, or up to a year in the freezer if using Everclear.
