Teal BLING Candy Apples

Teal BLING Candy Apples: A Glamorous Edible Centerpiece That Shines at Every Event

  • Author: Sam

Description

Teal BLING Candy Apples are a party-perfect treat with a glossy teal candy shell, a crisp Granny Smith core, and a glamorous edible glitter finish. They’re fun to make, totally customizable, and double as a dazzling centerpiece for birthdays, showers, or themed dessert tables. A bite-sized crunch that’s anything but boring!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium Granny Smith apples (washed and completely dried)

  • 6 wooden sticks or gold skewers

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • ½ cup light corn syrup

  • ¾ cup water

  • ½ teaspoon flavored extract (optional – cotton candy, vanilla, or bubblegum work great!)

  • Teal or turquoise gel food coloring

  • 23 tablespoons edible glitter or sparkling sanding sugar

Instructions

  1. Prep the Apples:
Wash apples thoroughly and dry them completely to remove any wax. Insert wooden sticks or decorative skewers into the top center of each apple.

  2. Make the Candy Shell:
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Heat over medium-high, stirring gently just until the sugar dissolves. Stop stirring and let it boil until it reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer (hard crack stage).

  3. Add Color and Flavor:
Remove the pan from heat and immediately stir in a few drops of teal gel food coloring and your chosen extract, working quickly as the candy mixture sets fast.

  4. Dip the Apples:
Tilt the pan slightly and dip each apple, swirling to coat completely. Let excess candy drip off, then quickly sprinkle or roll in edible glitter while the coating is still tacky.

  5. Let Set:
Place dipped apples on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let them cool at room temperature for about 15–20 minutes until the candy hardens completely.

Notes

  • Make sure your apples are 100% dry—any moisture can prevent the candy coating from sticking properly.

  • Gel food coloring is a must here. Liquid coloring can mess with the texture of the candy shell.

  • Work fast once the syrup is ready—the candy begins to set almost immediately.

  • Store the finished apples uncovered or loosely tented in a cool, dry spot. Avoid refrigeration to keep them from getting sticky.

  • Want a different theme? Try swapping the teal for other gel colors and using edible glitter in matching tones to suit your event.
