Tequila Sunrise Pops Recipe: A Boozy, Sunset-Inspired Summer Treat on a Stick

  • Author: Sam

Description

Tequila Sunrise Pops are a frozen twist on the iconic cocktail, layered with orange, pineapple, and a splash of grenadine for that perfect sunset effect. Boozy, vibrant, and super refreshing—these pops are summer party perfection! Make a batch ahead and keep them in the freezer for your next backyard hangout.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup orange juice (fresh or pulp-free bottled)

  • ½ cup pineapple juice

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

  • ½ cup tequila blanco

  • ¼ cup grenadine

  • Optional: lime wedges or slices, for serving

  • Popsicle molds (makes 6–8 pops, depending on size)

  • Popsicle sticks

Instructions

  • In a pitcher or large bowl, stir together the orange juice, pineapple juice, lime juice, and tequila blanco until fully combined.

  • Pour the mixture into popsicle molds, filling each about ¾ full.

  • Freeze for about 1 hour, until partially set but still slushy.

  • Gently pour 1 teaspoon of grenadine into each mold—it will sink to the bottom and create the signature “sunrise” look.

  • Insert popsicle sticks and freeze until completely solid, at least 6 hours or overnight.

  • To release, run warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds. Serve immediately with optional lime wedges.

Notes

  • For a mocktail version, skip the tequila and use sparkling water or more juice.

  • Want extra flair? Add chopped mango, strawberries, or a mint leaf to each mold before freezing.

  • Use clear molds if possible so you can see the gorgeous layered effect as it sets.

  • These pops will keep in the freezer for up to 2 weeks—store wrapped in plastic wrap or parchment and place in an airtight container.
