Tropical Rum Punch – Liquid Sunshine in a Bucket

  • Author: Ethan

Description

This Tropical Rum Punch is like sunshine in a bucket—literally! Bursting with mango, peach, pineapple, and citrus flavors, it’s layered for a stunning visual effect and built to serve a crowd. Made with rum, schnapps, tropical juices, and a fizzy finish from Smirnoff Ice, this big-batch punch is perfect for summer parties, backyard BBQs, or any occasion that calls for a taste of the tropics. It’s colorful, fruity, and dangerously easy to drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Bottom Layer

  • 32 oz mango cranberry juice

  • 8 oz peach schnapps

  • 4 oz watermelon pucker schnapps

  • 4 oz simple syrup

  • Sliced oranges

  • Sliced lemons

Top Layer

  • 32 oz Welch’s mango passion fruit juice

  • 8 oz Cruzan mango rum

  • 8 oz Malibu pineapple rum

  • 4 oz sweet and sour mix

  • 16 oz Smirnoff Ice Tropical Fruit (two 8 oz bottles)

Optional Garnish

  • Additional citrus slices

  • Fresh mint

  • Pineapple chunks

Instructions

  • In a large 196 oz (5.8 L) clear punch bucket or bowl, pour in all the bottom layer liquids: mango cranberry juice, peach schnapps, watermelon schnapps, and simple syrup.

  • Add sliced oranges and lemons to the bucket and gently stir to combine.

  • Fill the bucket halfway with ice to help create a separation between the layers and chill the punch.

  • Slowly pour in the top layer ingredients—mango passion fruit juice, mango rum, pineapple rum, and sweet and sour mix—over the back of a spoon to maintain the layered look.

  • Top with the Smirnoff Ice Tropical Fruit just before serving for a fizzy finish.

  • Garnish with more citrus slices or fresh mint if desired. Ladle into cups and enjoy immediately!

Notes

  • Chill all ingredients before assembling to help keep the punch cold and reduce the need for excess ice.

  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the schnapps and rums with flavored juices or sodas.

  • Don’t have mango cranberry juice? Try passionfruit, guava, or pineapple juice instead.

  • For extra flair, add diced tropical fruit like mango, pineapple, or strawberries directly into the punch.

  • This recipe yields about 124 oz (3.6 L) of punch—enough to serve 12 to 15 people depending on portion size.

  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days, though the punch will be best enjoyed fresh.
