  • Author: Sam

Description

Tropical Volcano Cocktail is a bold, colorful frozen drink layered with fruit punch, pineapple juice, vodka, and coconut rum. Each layer brings its own tropical twist—from bright blue berry punch to golden pineapple and a red lava top. It’s a party in a glass and guaranteed to wow! Perfect for summer celebrations, beach days, or whenever you need a vibrant splash of sunshine in your glass.

Ingredients

Scale

Blue Layer

  • 1 cup Berry Blue Typhoon Hawaiian Punch

  • 1½ oz vodka (such as Grey Goose or your favorite brand)

  • 1½ cups ice

Green Layer

  • 1 cup Green Berry Rush Hawaiian Punch

  • 1½ oz vodka

  • 1½ cups ice

Yellow Layer

  • 1 cup pineapple juice

  • 1½ oz coconut rum (like Malibu)

  • 1½ cups ice

Red Lava Layer

  • 1 cup Fruit Juicy Red Hawaiian Punch

  • Optional: ½ oz grenadine (for lava effect)

  • 1½ cups ice

Optional Garnish

  • Pineapple wedge

  • Maraschino cherry

  • Cocktail umbrella

Instructions

  • Blend Each Layer
In a high-powered blender, blend the ingredients for each color layer separately until slushy. Start with the blue, then green, yellow, and red.

  • Freeze Each Layer Briefly
Pour each blended layer into its own bowl and freeze for 5–10 minutes. This helps firm up the texture so the layers don’t mix when assembling.

  • Assemble the Cocktail
Spoon the blue layer into the bottom of each glass. Tap gently to level it.
Slowly add the green layer over the back of a spoon to keep layers distinct.
    Repeat with the yellow layer.
Top with the red lava layer. Add a drizzle of grenadine for an extra lava drip effect.

  • Garnish and Serve
Add a pineapple wedge, maraschino cherry, and a fun cocktail umbrella for a full tropical vibe. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, skip the spirits and use lemon-lime soda or flavored sparkling water to keep the fizz and fun.

  • Make-ahead tip: Blend and freeze layers up to 2 days in advance. Re-blend briefly before assembling.

  • Use the back of a spoon to pour each layer slowly and gently—it helps keep the colors from mixing.

  • This recipe serves 4–6 people, but you can double or triple it for parties.

  • Want to change things up? Try flavored vodkas or spiced rum for a twist!
