Violet Vortex Cocktail

Violet Vortex Cocktail Recipe – A Bubbly, Berry-Hued Sip That’s Out of This World

  • Author: Sam

Description

The Violet Vortex Cocktail is a vibrant, galaxy-hued drink made with berry liqueur, fizzy soda, and crisp lager beer. It’s visually stunning, refreshingly balanced, and ready in just 5 minutes. Whether you’re hosting a brunch, throwing a party, or craving something special, this cocktail brings color, flavor, and sparkle to every glass. Anything but boring!✨

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (12 oz) light lager or wheat beer, chilled

  • 1½ oz blueberry or blackberry liqueur (like crème de mûre or crème de cassis)

  • 2 oz lemon-lime soda or sparkling water

  • Ice (crushed or cubed)

Optional Garnish:

  • Lemon twist or wedge

  • Edible glitter or shimmer dust for that cosmic swirl

Instructions

  • Fill a tall cocktail glass with ice, about two-thirds full.

  • Pour in the berry liqueur first, letting it settle at the bottom to build that deep violet base.

  • Slowly add lemon-lime soda or sparkling water to create lift and fizz.

  • Gently pour the chilled beer over the back of a spoon to float it on top and form the signature vortex swirl.

  • Add a pinch of edible shimmer dust, and stir once for a magical galaxy effect.

  • Garnish with a lemon twist or wedge. Serve immediately while bubbly and cold!

Notes

  • Want it stronger? Add a splash of vodka or gin.

  • Swap in raspberry or cherry liqueur for a fun flavor variation.

  • For a non-alcoholic version, use berry syrup and non-alcoholic beer.

  • Chill all ingredients (including the glasses!) for the most stunning presentation and best flavor.

  • This cocktail is best enjoyed fresh, but you can pre-mix the liqueur and soda and add beer just before serving.
