  • Author: Sam

Description

Watermelon Lemon Drop Shots are juicy, tangy, and made for sunshine-filled celebrations! Fresh watermelon juice meets zesty lemon vodka in this easy party shot that’s as fun to drink as it is to serve. Rimmed with blue sugar and garnished with fruit, these vibrant shots are the perfect mix of sweet and citrusy. Serve chilled and watch them disappear—anything but boring!!

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups fresh watermelon juice (from blended and strained seedless watermelon)

  • ½ cup lemon vodka (or lemonade for a mocktail version)

  • 1–2 tablespoons simple syrup (adjust based on watermelon sweetness)

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • Ice (for shaking)

For rimming & garnish:

  • Corn syrup or lemon juice (to rim the glasses)

  • Blue sanding sugar

  • Lemon wedges or mini watermelon wedges (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glasses:
Pour corn syrup or lemon juice onto a small plate. Dip the rims of shot glasses into the liquid, then into blue sanding sugar to coat. Set aside to dry slightly.

  2. Make Watermelon Juice:
Blend fresh seedless watermelon until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove pulp and seeds. You’ll need 1½ cups of juice.

  3. Shake the Shots:
In a cocktail shaker, combine watermelon juice, lemon vodka, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup. Add ice and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until cold.

  4. Serve:
Strain the mixture into the prepared shot glasses. Garnish with a small wedge of watermelon or a lemon twist if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Mocktail version: Swap lemon vodka for lemonade to make a non-alcoholic version everyone can enjoy.

  • Make ahead: You can prepare the juice and mix up to a day in advance. Just shake with ice and garnish right before serving.

  • Too sweet or too tart? Adjust simple syrup and lemon juice based on your watermelon’s natural sweetness and the tartness of your lemons.

  • Serving tip: Chill your shot glasses ahead of time for the coldest, crispest sip!
